just my luck...

So the luck of Emily strikes again...I was driving down the highway at slightly over the speed limit and I was just coming over a small hill when suddenly KERCLUNK....THUMP THUMP THUMP...ding, ding, ding. THUMP THUMP, swerve, screeching halt. Some very thoughtful person lost a nice size piece of fireword in the middle of the highway and I flew right over. Now for a normal person, they would just have had a flat tire, change it and be on their way only slightly behind schedule. But for me...not so much. So, I have roadside assistance but I decided that I was an independent woman who could definitely change a flat tire. I brace myself for the high winds that were rocking my car and jump out of the car. It only took me about 10 minutes to find and get to the spare tire and jack but I got it! Then I jacked my car up and then tried to loosed the things on the tire which I found out later was something you should do before you put the car up. Anyways, the car started to fall off the jack so I decided that being independent wasn't worth loosing my arm or car over so I then called roadside assistance and within 15 minutes they had changed my tire and I was on my way. It was sunday and I knew that I wouldn't have time this week to fix the tire this week so I decided instead of driving super slow for last hour of my trip I would just stop in Bloomington and get the tire fixed then. I went to Wal-mart to get the tire fixed and the guy asked me if I just needed a new tire or if the old one could be patched to which I replied that I had NO idea and he should just look at it. So we go out to my car and he pulls the tire out and kid you not this is exactly what he says (looking at the front) "Oh, this doesn't look too bad, we can definitely just fix this (turns it over), holy shit what did you do to this, you completely bent the entire rim and we don't sell those here. You would have to go to a junkyard (ha, yay right!) or a dealership to fix that." Cue Emily crying on the phone to her brother that she didn't know what to do. Ok, to make this story end I will skip to the end. I basically had to, scratch that, chose to drive on the interstate forever going 45 mph while every semi, car, truck, and bicycle pasted me...A 3 hour drive took me 5+hours. AND that was my Sunday!
